Traffic and navigation app Waze has received a new update to display the estimated costs for tolled roads along your route.
The new feature is currently available in the United States and Canada for only 20 percent of the users, but the parent company says it should go live for everyone living in these two countries by July 22.
Additionally, the testing has already started for Europe, with APAC and LATAM regions to follow in the coming weeks. No ETA is available on when the feature could launch in these markets, however.
The toll prices are provided by the community, so they might not necessarily be 100 percent accurate, albeit given the large userbase that powers Waze, there’s a good chance they would come pretty close to much you have to pay when using a tolled road.
“Toll prices are estimations based on info added by the Waze community, your route & settings – they don’t replace actual prices set by the operator,” a notification displayed inside the app reads…. (read more)
