Switch watchmaker Swatch has filed a lawsuit against Samsung, accusing the company of copying its designs with smartwatch faces that are offered to its users.
Samsung’s wearables come with various customization options, including custom watches that are designed by both the South Korean company and third parties. They are available in a dedicated store, and can be downloaded either free of charge or with a fee.
Swatch, which owns brands like Tissot, Omega, and Longines, says that it discovered faces for several models, including Gear Sport, Gear S3 Classic and Frontier models that copy its designs, so it’s now asking for no less than $100 in damages.
