Spotify is definitely one of the most popular music streaming services out there and the new numbers seem to support this claim. The company’s CEO and founder, Daniel Ek, has announced on Twitter that Spotify has just reached 40 million paying subscribers.
Last year in June, Spotify reached 20 million paying subscribers, and in March this year, the company counted 30 million paying subscribers. It seems that it managed to gather another 10 million paying subscribers since then.
Spotify has actually managed to double its paying subscribers in 15 months and gain 33% more subscribers in less than six months.
The application currently does much better than Apple Music, which counts 17 million paying subscribers, a lot fewer than Spotify’s 40 million. However, Apple Music only launch… (read more)
