Samsung is getting ready to launch the Galaxy Fold 2 in early August, but at the same time, the South Korean phone maker is also working on something that could further boost the adoption of foldable phones all over the world.
It’s the Galaxy Fold Lite, a more affordable version of the Galaxy Fold which could come with a series of cost-saving measures specifically supposed to keep the price as low as possible.
For example, this particular model wouldn’t feature 5G but only support 4G, something which at some level makes sense given it would be aimed at global markets and right now not all countries have 5G.
Initially, the Galaxy Fold Lite was expected to go live this year, especially as Samsung has become one of the pioneers in the foldable phone market. And naturally, the South Koreans wanted to be among the first to bring a more affordable model to customers.
