Last year was quite disastrous for one of Samsung’s flagship smartphones, the Galaxy Note 7, as the company was faced with disgruntled customers after several units started catching fire. An ample investigation revealed that some battery units were to blame.
The Galaxy Note 7 was discontinued and Samsung, as well as authorities, concluded that two separate battery issues caused the smartphone to overheat and eventually catch fire. Physical and property damages were reported, as Samsung started retrieving all units from its customers.
The South Korean company upped quality assurance tests and procedures, and it seems that the effort paid off. Samsung recently stated for Korean news outlets that no battery problems on the Galaxy S8 were reported since the device’s release, which took place about 50 days ago.
