The recently-released Samsung Galaxy S10 could be the last model to launch under the Galaxy S brand, as the South Korean manufacturer is reportedly planning a major change beginning with the next year.
A report from Korean media indicates that Samsung is looking into different names for the next-generation Galaxy S flagship, as the company believes that staying with the current approach that uses increasing numbers isn’t the best strategy in the long term.
“Samsung is aware that after the S10, people may not like the longer names that will come with two-digit numbers, if we stick to the current system,” a company exec told the Yonhap News Agency.
While details on the alternatives that Samsung is currently considering aren’t available right now, this isn’t the first time we hear that the Galaxy S brand would be rebranded.
