In case you were thinking that Samsung finally managed to resolve its update problem and deliver improvements to its devices in a timely manner, here’s something that could make you change your mind.
Revisions that Samsung has made to its update schedule for a number of Galaxy models shows that the Oreo release has been pushed back for several devices, with the rollout now projected to begin in late 2018.
While it’s pretty awkward to get the Android Oreo update in October or November when other smartphones are already receiving the new Android P, Samsung apparently believes there’s absolutely no reason to hurry up and rush this release.
Models pushed back to December
According to this schedule posted in the Samsung Members app, the Galaxy C7 Pro, C9 Pro, A9 Pro (2016), J7 (2018), J7 Neo, On5 (2016), On7 (2016), and On7 (2018) are all projected to receive the update in December. Note that some of the devices that have been pushed back in the sched… (read more)
