Facebook officially introduced Reactions and Mentions to its Messenger application in late March. The update had brought a new icon next to each reply on Messenger, allowing users to simply tap on the icon and pick from one of the available reactions.
In a logical move, Facebook extended reactions to comments on posts, allowing users to simply hover over the Like button below comments and pick from one of the available reactions. Facebook offers users multiple emojis to react and express the emotions generated by the post.
Users can pick from like, love, haha, wow, sad and angry emojis. A Facebook spokesperson stated for Adweek that “we’ve heard from people that they’d like more ways to show their Reaction in conversations on Facebook, so we’re rolling out the ability to react to comments.”
