Qualcomm has recently announced a new mobile chip whose purpose is to boost the gaming performance on mid-range smartphones out there.
The Snapdragon 732G, which is essentially an improved version of the 730G, is mostly aimed at mid-range phones and comes with massive upgrades in the areas that are important for gaming.
For example, it comes with an Adreno 618 GPU that is supposed to allow a graphics performance boost of up to 15 percent. The Snapdragon 732G uses a Kryo 470 CPU that’s; upgraded to 2.3 GHz, up from 2.2 GHz on the 730G.
In addition, it comes with the Snapdragon X15 LTE modem, which should allow download speeds of up to 800 Mbps. And that’s not all.
“The Computer Vision ISP (CV-ISP) delivers 4x power savings, so you can continually capture vivid 4K HDR Video (including Portrait Mode and Object Segmentation). Or, take astonishing, detailed photos with support for up to 192 MP captures,” Qualcomm explains.
