Qualcomm Technologies Inc announced today the release of their new Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 Platform for smartwatches.
According to Qualcomm’s press release, the ultra-low power system architecture powered by a quad-core ARM Cortex A7 processor with a CPU speed of up to 1.2 GHz is designed to provide smartwatches with extended battery life, innovative personalized experiences, and rich interactive modes.
Qualcomm also stated that their new Snapdragon Wear 3100 platform will be released in three versions each of them focusing on a different type of smartwatch: 4G LTE devices, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi tethered models and GPS-based tethered units.
