Nokia 8110, also known as the banana phone is making a comeback after 20 years, and it’s everything that you would imagine for a remake.
If you don’t remember the Nokia 8110, it means that you’re way too young and most likely this phone isn’t meant for you. The original version launched in a way that you don’t get to experience anymore, with the help of a movie.
That’s right, the Nokia 8110 is the famous banana phone from the Matrix. Back then, seeing a curved phone and a sliding protective cover for the keyboard was something unique. Since the Matrix was a pretty big deal, the demand for this phone exploded after the film’s release, and it was enough to keep the concept alive within an entire generation.

Nokia is now in the process of reviving old classics. Their latest version of Nokia 3310 managed to get some traction, and it seems to have warranted the revival of another classic.
