Instagram has just announced a number of new features for its mobile application, some that seem quite similar to what Snapchat has to offer. As such, Instagram introduced augmented reality face filters, a feature that Snapchat added not too long ago.
Instagram stated that it released eight face filters, which seem to work in the same way as on Snapchat. In addition, Facebook introduced some new camera effects in March, which can be used for enhancing images.
Specifically, Instagram users will be able to add virtual koala ears, glasses, butterfly crown or other effects to themselves in real time. The effects can also be added in photos and videos taken with Instagram.
