Huawei’s in-house operating system often referred to as HongMeng will be faster than both Android and macOS, according to company founder Ren Zhengfei.
Zhengfei discussed the development of the operating system in an interview with a French magazine, explaining that HongMeng will also support Android apps but will be faster than Google’s platform.
Additionally, Zhengfei says noticeable faster performance would be observed when comparing HongMeng with Apple’s macOS as well, as the developing team has focused specifically on achieving a processing delay of less than 5ms.
The Huawei founder claims HongMeng was designed from the very beginning to be a universal platform, so it can be installed not only on smartphones, but also on other devices that the company manufactures, including here PCs and tablets. In other words, it can be a replacement for Windows as well.
